IonQ signs flagship distributor agreement with Toyota Tsusho to enter the Japanese market
On 2025-04-23 IonQ announced a flagship distributor partnership with Toyota Tsusho Corporation, a Toyota Group member with roughly $70 billion in annual revenue, to bring IonQ's Forte systems and networking technologies to Japanese enterprises. IonQ described the agreement as its entry into the Japanese market and said it had already produced a first Japanese customer deal through Toyota Tsusho's network.
A named distributor agreement with a major Toyota Group trading house gives IonQ an enterprise sales channel into Japan and reportedly an initial customer, advancing APAC commercialization beyond its prior South Korea footprint.
Routing market entry through a large keiretsu trading house lets IonQ scale Japanese enterprise reach without building local salesforce, and may pre-empt rivals (Quantinuum, IBM) in Japanese commercial accounts.
