D-Wave's Advantage2 goes operational for U.S. government work at Davidson Technologies in Alabama
On 2025-11-03 D-Wave Quantum announced that an Advantage2 annealing quantum computer is operational at Davidson Technologies' headquarters in Huntsville, Alabama, available for U.S. government applications including national defense, radar detection, logistics optimization and materials science via D-Wave's Leap cloud. It is D-Wave's second U.S.-based annealing system and the first in Alabama, under a multi-year agreement with Davidson to accelerate government adoption. Disclosed via Form 8-K (Item 7.01) and press.
A physically deployed Advantage2 at a defense-focused systems integrator with a multi-year government-adoption agreement converts D-Wave's cloud-only access model into an on-the-ground national-security channel, a credible commercial milestone for the annealing business though modest in disclosed value.
On-prem government deployments via integrators like Davidson seed classified and defense use cases that cloud access cannot serve, and align with the broader U.S. push (NQI, DARPA QBI) to onshore quantum capability.
