Rigetti receives an $8.4M order for a 108-qubit quantum computer from India's C-DAC
On 2026-01-20 Rigetti Computing India P.L. (a wholly owned subsidiary of Rigetti Computing) announced an $8.4 million purchase order to deliver a 108-qubit quantum computer to the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC), India's premier R&D organization under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. The system, built on Rigetti's chiplet-based architecture, is to be installed on-premises at C-DAC's Bengaluru center with deployment in the second half of 2026. A named, $8.4M international hardware order for a 108-qubit on-prem system from a national R&D agency is a concrete commercial-and-sovereign win for Rigetti's chiplet roadmap and its largest disclosed system order, a deployment validation in the score-5 band.
On-prem national-lab placements (cf. the August Montana State Novera) build a government/academic installed base for Rigetti's chiplet architecture and recurring support revenue; delivery and acceptance against the 108-qubit spec are the execution proof points.
