Rigetti and India's C-DAC sign MOU to explore co-development of hybrid quantum computing systems
On 2025-09-02 Rigetti Computing announced a Memorandum of Understanding with the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC), India's premier R&D organisation under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, to explore co-development of hybrid quantum computing systems for government laboratories and academics. The parties named a technical focus on indigenous cryogenic electronics, superconducting hardware, and advanced processor fabrication aligned with C-DAC's ChipIN initiative, plus workforce-development activities. The MOU is non-binding and discloses no dollar value or delivery date.
An MOU with a national government R&D body extends Rigetti's superconducting roadmap into India's emerging quantum-and-semiconductor ecosystem, but at the exploration stage with no committed capital it is a directional rather than material signal.
A named government counterparty in India positions Rigetti for any subsequent procurement under India's National Quantum Mission and complements its prior C-DAC engagement that later progressed to a 108-qubit system order.
