Amazon Braket makes IQM's 54-qubit Emerald superconducting QPU generally available
On 2025-07-21 AWS announced general availability on Amazon Braket of IQM's Emerald, a 54-qubit superconducting QPU built on IQM's Crystal 54 architecture with transmon qubits in a full square lattice and tunable couplers. AWS cited early median fidelities of 99.93% single-qubit and 99.5% two-qubit, full square-lattice connectivity, and support for experimental dynamic circuits (mid-circuit measurement and conditional operations); the device is offered in the Europe (Stockholm) region alongside IQM's 20-qubit Garnet via pay-as-you-go and priority access.
New cloud availability of a vendor's next-generation QPU with disclosed fidelity specs is an incremental product event above the routine 'new cloud region' bar but below the newsletter threshold, consistent with a score-4 product-availability milestone.
Adding a higher-qubit-count IQM device to Braket broadens cloud access to European superconducting hardware and intensifies the multi-vendor QPU marketplace AWS, Azure and others are assembling, modestly improving IQM's commercial reach.
